My experience has been diverse, beginning youth and families in school and counseling settings in Brooklyn, New York. It was there and then that I learned the foundational value of creating a safe, healing, and normalizing place for individuals and community - a space that allows growth and expression in the midst of complicated circumstances.
I have provided individual, group and family counseling to adults, children, adolescents, parents and couples in a variety of settings, including substance abuse treatment programs, non-profit counseling centers, parenting and family programs, and private practice. Additionally, I facilitate workshops in a variety of community spaces including health care settings, businesses and schools. In each of these exists a common thread: a genuine passion and investment in supporting healthy, thriving connections with one another, with our communities and within ourselves.
I am a clinical social worker, licensed by the State Board of Virginia. Having completed undergraduate work at Fordham University (1990) and graduate work at Hunter College School of Social Work (1994) in New York City, I continue to seek out training and research that will allow me to serve with knowledge, competence and compassion. An avid learner, I aim to serve with the most current, research-based treatment techniques and information available.
In addition to my social work practice, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, biking, heading to the beach, music, and, most of all, time with my family.
